    Alternative Therapy with Yoga/Props

Welcome to Swasti Yog – Where Healing Meets Harmony

At SwastiYog.co.uk, we believe that yoga is more than a physical practice — it’s a path to inner peace, holistic healing, and lifelong well-being. Our approach blends movement, breath work, and meditation to help students and patients connect deeply with their bodies, calm their minds, and foster emotional and physical balance.

    🌿 Yoga as Alternative Therapy

Yoga has long been recognized as a powerful form of alternative therapy, particularly for managing chronic pain, joint stiffness, postural issues, and stress-related conditions. Rooted in ancient wisdom and supported by modern science, therapeutic yoga offers safe, non-invasive support for healing.

In the 19th century, the healing benefits of alternative therapy (yoga based) were revived and reintroduced to the world from Kabir Baug, Pune (India), where pioneering work was led by: BKS Iyengar Guruji, a globally respected Yoga Master and Acharya Yoganand (Dr. S.V Karandikar (MBBS)), who conducted extensive research and published clinical studies on yoga therapy.

Padmashri Dr. Sharad Hardikar, an eminent orthopedic surgeon, an honorary fellow of the British Orthopedic Association, who recommended alternative therapy through yoga for Grade 1 and Grade 2 patients before surgical intervention.

This integration of yogic tradition and modern medicine laid the foundation for the evidence-based, alternative therapy we practice today.
